Showcases are an opportunity for students and instructors to show what they have been working on by performing a choreographed routine. Pieces can be fun, flirty, lyrical, serious, somber, comedic, narrative, or all of the above! While most routines are choreographed to be solo, we invite students to branch out and craft one as a duo, or as a group. If you are interested in showing friends, family, and fellow students what you have learned, sign up to be a performer at a future showcase!

Fredericksburg Ninja holds showcases each Spring and Fall. Dates will be posted below along with any additional information as they become solidified. Fredericksburg Ninja does not charge their performers to be part of any showcase. If you have any questions contact Rachel at

New to Fall 2019: Online Performer Submission forms! If you would like to sign-up to be a performer for the Saturday October 19th 2019 showcase, use the submission form found below.

Future Showcase Dates:

  • Saturday October 19th 2019 Theme: “Something Wicked This Way Comes”
  • Spring 2020 Theme: Circus
  • Fall 2020 Theme: TBD

Note that while a showcase may have a designated theme, routines are not required to adhere to them. If the theme inspires your song choice or costume selection, then great! If you already had a song or routine in mind which does not match the chosen theme, then don’t worry about it!

Themes are just a unifying idea for the evening – not a requirement.

Goals for Performers:

The following are goals to assist performers in keeping on track and minimize stress leading up to a showcase.

Throughout the year:

  • Keep good notes/videos of moves that you learn so that you can refer to them when choreographing.
  • Utilize open gyms to practice what you learned in classes and link moves into combinations.
  • Begin making lists of songs that you may like to perform.
  • Take advantage of cross-training classes like Zen Barre, Buti Yoga, Inversions 101, Pole Flow, Choreography 101, and Flexibility to help keep your body balanced and bendy.

10 weeks out: Select an apparatus (pole, silks, lyra, etc.) for your routine

8 weeks out: Be working on choosing moves to incorporate into your routine & song choice

6 weeks out: Finalize song choice and begin to pin point moves within the song

3 weeks out: Finalize costume and run routine with it several times prior to dress rehearsal

2 weeks out: Have routine complete. Rehearse as often as possible to smooth out transitions and create muscle memory

1 week out: Run routine with chosen hair style

Note: Pay attention to spacing as you choreograph your routine. See your Instructor or our Showcase Coordinator for more details, which may change from Showcase to Showcase.
